Connect With Other Families
Connecting with other families who have experienced what you are experiencing is such an important need for all parents — especially in the early day of learning about Trisomy 18 when everything you’re learning is a shock. You may feel alone or afraid, and you are uncertain about what the future holds for you, your child and the rest of your family.
But you are not alone.
There is an entire community of parents who faced what you’re facing and come out the other side. At the Trisomy 18 Foundation, we want to connect you to those families who have been in your shoes and offer a variety of ways to make those connections, whether that’s one on one or in private online groups.
We also want to help you find the group that is right for your stage in this journey. For example, parents facing a prenatal diagnosis during pregnancy often find it difficult to be in a group focused on the caretaking of living children when their child has not arrived yet and may never reach those stages of development.
We are here to help you find the support you need. If you would like one on one support, please contact us, and we will put you in touch with another parent who can offer support and answer the questions you have. If you’re not sure which community is the right fit for you, please reach out. We can help.

Parents’ Group
We want this space to be a warm, compassionate and SAFE space for you to connect with other parents who have also faced learning their pregnancies were impacted by a Trisomy 18 diagnosis for a much-wanted child. This community of parents can help support you as you go through this journey.
Extended Families & Health Professionals Group
Trisomy 18 affects not only the parents of those babies diagnosed but also the extended family members and the health care professionals who help care for them. This private group provides a space for those people to share, ask questions and learn how to better support parents of a child with Trisomy 18.
