My husband and I found out we were expecting our first child in October 2022.
We chose to do genetic testing to find out the gender of our baby a little early. 13 weeks into the pregnancy we were called with the results. We were surprised to not only find out we were having a little boy, but also that there was a chance he had Trisomy 18. We went through all the testing and sadly everything confirmed the diagnosis. We chose hear the doctors out, but ultimately let God make His call on what would happen. We chose to enjoy every bit of the pregnancy.

At some of our last specialist appointments (there were many), we were told our son had a pretty serious heart defect (along with other medical concerns). We were told that there was a high chance he would not make it through the birth.

Thankfully we had one of the best OBGYN doctors out there that believed our boy was a fighter. She sent me for an induction at 36 weeks & 4 days to try to give him the best possible chance.

The next day, on June 28th, 2023, Hudson Jamie surprised us all with a heartbeat & his first cry. He spent 36 minutes with us, wrapped in my arms until his last breath. He even got to hold his dad’s hand. All he knew was love during his time here on this earth. We miss him a lot, but we know he is at peace and wouldn’t trade the time we had with him for anything in this world.

Would you like to make a donation in memory of this child?
